Employers to hold virtual job fair

Palm Beach County restaurants, hotels and retailers say they have hundreds of job openings to fill and a stagnant applicant pool.

On Monday, May 10, businesses will combine their efforts to reach potential employees through a virtual job fair.

“The doors are open, but we keep hearing from businesses in the community that they are struggling. They don’t have the employees to staff all the shifts, and they are competing with unemployment benefits,” Palm Beach Gardens Mayor Rachelle Litt said in a statement. “It’s vital for our economy that we help people get back to work and support our small businesses.”

The job fair is a collaboration between CareerSource Palm Beach County, the City of Palm Beach Gardens, and Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce to help local businesses rebound from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 30 employers are participating in the virtual job fair, offering a variety of full and part-time positions. Some companies are prepared to hire on the spot, and in some cases, offer hiring bonuses.

Participants include 1000 North, BEACON, The Cooper, Fit2Run, Lucky Shuck, Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa, Rocco’s Tacos, Spoto’s Oyster Bar, The Tacklebox, Topside, Tory Burch and Williams-Sonoma.

The event is 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday, May 10. Register at portal.premiervirtual.com/event/register-jobseeker/7647- retail-hospitality-virtual-fair
