Board member and longtime supporter Penny Heller has been named chair of the board of directors of Adopt-A-Family of the Palm Beaches Inc.
She has served Adopt-A-Family for nearly 10 years as a member of the Tree Lighting Committee, as well as a member of the board of directors, most recently serving as first vice-chair.
Originally from New Jersey, Ms. Heller and her late husband, Gene, owned G. Heller Enterprises, a real estate development company. She managed the residential arm of the family business while also supporting their volunteer efforts. She dedicated many years to the American Cancer Society in New Jersey.
“Penny is someone who truly embodies what Adopt-A-Family means and the work we do,” Matt Constantine, Adopt-A-Family of the Palm Beaches Inc. CEO, said in a statement. “She is a tireless advocate for the families we serve. I, along with the entire team, am excited for the leadership, energy, and expertise that she will bring during her two-year term as board chair.”
