West Palm Beach’s Bob Carter’s Actor’s Workshop and Repertory Company presents “A Song For Coretta” by Pearle Cleage.

The eloquent and commanding play tells the story of five women who meet while waiting in line outside the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta to mourn Coretta Scott King’s death.

The women share their experiences of how much King empowered them.

Coretta Scott King was an accomplished author and activist, the wife of Martin Luther King Jr., and a strong advocate for African American equality. She led an extraordinary life filled with service and music.

Cleage’s “A Song For Coretta” is an inspiring testament to the civil rights icon.

Bob Carter’s Actor’s Workshop & Repertory Company was launched in 1980. Their performances include avant-garde plays as well as seldom performed classics. Many shows contained true-to-life subjects often too risky for other theaters.

The non-profit theater company provides education and training in the theatre arts and offers acting day camps for children and teens.
